1. Overview
This policy governs every rider (Okada / motorcycle) and driver (car / courier) that operates on the VeviGoo platform. It applies alongside the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Safety Policy. Riders and drivers are independent professionals who use VeviGoo to receive job requests; they are not employees of VeviGoo.
2. Rider and Driver Onboarding
Every rider and driver must complete VeviGoo's onboarding process before receiving job requests. Onboarding includes:
- Personal application on the VeviGoo Rider App
- Submission of a valid Ghana Card (or passport) and a valid Ghanaian driver's licence
- Front and side photographs of the vehicle or motorcycle to be operated
- Vehicle registration certificate and current road-worthiness certificate
- Current valid insurance certificate (third party at minimum; comprehensive preferred)
- A clear front-facing profile photograph
- Signed acknowledgement of the Safety Policy and Community Guidelines
- In-person or video verification with a VeviGoo Rider Coordinator
- A short safety and app-usage training session
3. Vehicle and Motorcycle Requirements
Vehicles operating on VeviGoo must meet minimum standards to protect passengers and cargo:
- Motorcycles: engine capacity ≥ 125cc, roadworthy tyres and brakes, working headlight and tail-light, functional indicators, working horn, chain guard fitted
- Cars: not older than 15 years, four functional doors, working seatbelts on all seats, working air-conditioning for Comfort tier, roadworthy tyres and brakes, no visible body damage that affects safety
- For all vehicles: two roadworthy helmets (motorcycles), current insurance and road-worthiness certificate, valid registration plates matching the profile
- Vehicle appearance must be clean and professional — vehicles that fail spot-checks may be temporarily removed from the platform
4. Safety Obligations
Every rider and driver agrees to:
- Operate the vehicle strictly in accordance with Ghanaian traffic laws
- Wear a helmet at all times (motorcycles) and require passengers to wear one
- Never operate the vehicle while intoxicated, fatigued or otherwise impaired
- Not use a phone while riding or driving (only hands-free navigation is permitted)
- Follow VeviGoo's dispatched route unless the customer explicitly requests a change
- Refuse trips or deliveries that would require breaking the law
- Report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to VeviGoo within 24 hours
5. Ride and Delivery Conduct
The following conduct is required of every rider and driver on every trip:
- Verify the customer's name before starting the trip
- Confirm pickup and drop-off addresses in the app before commencing
- Follow the shortest reasonable route unless the customer requests otherwise
- Do not detour, delay or refuse to complete an accepted trip
- Handle luggage, packages and food orders with care — no crushing, tipping or exposure to weather
- Do not attempt to negotiate fares outside the app or accept off-platform payments
- Be polite, professional and respectful to customers, other road users and VeviGoo staff
6. Prohibited Behaviour
The following are grounds for immediate suspension and, on repeat offences, permanent removal:
- Reckless, drunk, drugged or otherwise impaired driving
- Harassment, sexual solicitation, threats or discrimination toward any customer
- Refusing rides based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or nationality
- Attempting to defraud the platform (fake trips, phantom pickups, GPS spoofing, staged accidents)
- Carrying illegal cargo, weapons or contraband
- Off-platform solicitation of customers, or attempting to bypass VeviGoo fees
- Sharing account credentials with another person or letting a third party operate the account
- Tampering with the vehicle's GPS, meter, dashcam or vehicle inspection records
7. Customer Privacy
Riders and drivers see only what is necessary to complete the trip: the customer's first name, phone number (through masked relay), pickup and drop-off locations, and any special instructions. You may not: store, share, publish or use customer contact details after the trip has ended; take photographs or video recordings of customers without consent; or contact customers through channels other than the in-app chat once the trip is complete. Violating customer privacy is grounds for immediate suspension.
8. Fraud Prevention
VeviGoo continuously monitors trip patterns for signs of fraud. Suspicious patterns — including impossibly fast trips, repeated identical pickups and drop-offs, unusually short cancellations, and mismatched GPS tracks — are automatically flagged and reviewed by Trust and Safety. If your account is flagged, we will contact you to investigate before taking any action against pending earnings.
9. Earnings, Fees and Payouts
For each completed trip, VeviGoo retains a service commission — currently up to 20% depending on tier — and the remainder is credited to your rider wallet at the end of the trip. Weekly payouts run every Monday to your registered mobile-money or bank account. Bonuses, incentives and referral rewards are disclosed campaign by campaign. Cash trips (where enabled) require you to bank the cash and reconcile in-app within 24 hours.
10. Accidents and Insurance
In the event of an accident: (a) prioritise safety and medical help; (b) report immediately in the app using the SOS button; (c) notify the police where injury or property damage has occurred; (d) contact VeviGoo Rider Support within 24 hours. Riders and drivers are responsible for their own vehicle insurance; VeviGoo provides supplementary in-trip coverage subject to policy limits published in the rider dashboard.
11. Suspension and Deactivation
VeviGoo may suspend or permanently deactivate riders and drivers who: violate this policy, the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy; receive repeated safety complaints, low ratings or excessive cancellations; drive dangerously; or engage in fraud. Suspensions may be temporary (pending investigation) or permanent, and are communicated in writing with the reason and the appeal process. Riders may appeal any deactivation decision by emailing support@vevigoo.com within 14 days.
12. Contact
For rider onboarding, verification, earnings or safety, email support@vevigoo.com or use the in-app Rider Support chat. Compliance and fraud escalations go to compliance@vevigoo.com.
