1. Overview
This Prohibited Products & Services Policy lists the items and services that sellers may not list, sell or fulfil through the VeviGoo marketplace or courier service. It exists to protect customers, comply with Ghanaian law, satisfy the terms of our payment providers, and meet the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Violations result in immediate takedown of the listing and, depending on severity, suspension or permanent removal of the seller account.
2. Absolutely Prohibited
The following items may never be listed, sold or transported on VeviGoo under any circumstances:
- Illegal drugs, narcotics and controlled substances (including cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, cannabis products where illegal, and any substance scheduled under Ghanaian law)
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, tasers and any weapon designed to injure
- Knives, machetes or blades sold with the intent to cause harm (kitchen and utility blades sold as household goods are permitted)
- Hazardous chemicals, industrial solvents, unlabelled poisons and radioactive materials
- Counterfeit goods and unauthorised replicas of trademarked products
- Stolen goods, or any product the seller cannot legally prove ownership of
- Pornographic material, adult toys, sexual services and any form of adult content
- Child sexual abuse material of any kind — such listings will be reported to the Ghana Police Service and international authorities without notice
- Human body parts, organs, blood, tissue and any medical waste
- Wildlife, ivory, animal skins and products derived from endangered species
- Fake or forged documents, including passports, visas, national IDs, degree certificates or licences
- Financial scams, pyramid schemes, HYIP offers and any product marketed on the promise of guaranteed high returns
3. Licensed Categories Only
The following items may only be listed by sellers who hold a valid Ghanaian licence and have submitted proof of that licence during onboarding. Listings without a verified licence will be removed:
- Alcohol — requires a valid Ghana Standards Authority licence and proof of legal age controls
- Tobacco and nicotine products (cigarettes, cigars, vapes, e-liquids)
- Prescription medication and controlled pharmaceuticals — requires a valid Pharmacy Council of Ghana licence
- Firearms accessories, ammunition components and licensed hunting equipment — requires Ministry of the Interior authorisation
- Precious metals, gemstones and gold — requires PMMC / Minerals Commission licences where applicable
- Insurance and financial products — regulated by the National Insurance Commission and Bank of Ghana; VeviGoo does not sell insurance or financial products directly
4. Restricted Services
The following services may not be offered through VeviGoo:
- Medical consultations, prescriptions or diagnoses (VeviGoo does not provide medical services)
- Legal representation or paid legal advice
- Gambling, betting, lotteries and games of chance unless licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana
- Loans, credit lines, or any form of consumer lending — VeviGoo is not a bank and does not offer loans
- Crypto-asset trading, exchange or custody
- Political campaign services, election-related influencing and paid political messaging
- Human resources services offered without required labour-law compliance
5. Borderline Items — Case-by-Case Review
Some products or services may be legal but require additional review before they can be listed. Sellers should contact vendors@vevigoo.com before listing:
- Second-hand electronics — must include original invoice or serial number to prove legal provenance
- Wholesale or bulk food shipments — must comply with FDA Ghana labelling and cold-chain requirements
- Traditional medicine, herbal supplements and cosmetics — must be FDA Ghana approved where required
- Items that require age verification (18+) — VeviGoo does not currently support in-app age verification, so such items may not be listed
- Live animals and pets — currently not supported on the VeviGoo courier network
6. Enforcement
Listings are moderated by both automated review and human moderators. Prohibited listings are removed on discovery. Sellers who repeatedly attempt to list prohibited items, or who list them with intent to evade moderation, will have their storefronts suspended or permanently removed. In serious cases — especially involving illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods or child sexual abuse material — accounts are reported to the Ghana Police Service and international authorities.
7. Reporting a Prohibited Listing
If you find a listing that appears to violate this policy, report it in-app using the "Report listing" option or email compliance@vevigoo.com with the store name, listing title and a screenshot. We review every credible report within 24 hours.
